John joined us as an Associate Audit Director in 2008 subsequently becoming an Audit Director. Before that, he worked for Deloitte, specialising in International Financial Reporting Standards and taxation.
John has a diverse audit portfolio, which includes:
- local authorities and their subsidiaries;
- district health boards;
- tertiary education institutions; and
- energy companies.
John leads the Audit New Zealand Energy Sector Knowledge Network.
Earlier in his career, John worked for Ernst & Young. He has held various roles, including Accounting Manager, at both Firestone and at the Christchurch City Council.
